Steve Gilliam serves as Mentor for UGA Trial Clinic

Steve Gilliam was an invited faculty member at the Gary Christy Memorial Georgia Skills Clinic, held at The University of Georgia Law School June 27-30, 2013. The Clinic is an intense four-day program on all aspects of a trial, beginning with trial notebooks to trial preparation, and then to the actual trial. Attendees included civil and criminal trial lawyers of all ages wishing to strengthen their trial techniques and skills.

From the event's website:

"Some of Georgia’s finest attorneys and judges will serve as mentors.The ICLE Georgia Trial Skills Clinic provides attendees...opportunities to perform in a realistic trial setting and receive advice necessary to develop and enhance skills as a member of the trial bar from seasoned litigators and judges."

The course description boasts the following:

"For four days you will be on your feet, arguing, questioning witnesses and generally developing your trial skills. You will work on a civil case and a criminal case. The course emphasizes trial techniques, in addition to substantive law. You will be assigned problems and must be prepared to perform in the role of the trial counsel. You will learn from the critiques offered by the mentors, fellow attendees and from demonstrations by faculty members."
