Experience

Brent Hatcher is a partner with the firm and practices primarily in the areas of general civil litigation, commercial and business litigation, appellate litigation, personal injury, and corporate transactions. Mr. Hatcher’s commercial litigation practice includes representation of both individuals and businesses in a wide variety of matters, including contract disputes, economic torts, restrictive covenant actions, and trade secret misappropriation. Mr. Hatcher has tried cases in Georgia and throughout the Southeast, in both state and federal courts. He has represented individuals as well as large corporations on a wide variety of litigation matters and has been recognized both locally and nationally for his litigation accomplishments and experience. Additionally, Mr. Hatcher serves as outside general counsel for a large manufacturing company, and routinely provides general corporate advice and counseling to multiple corporations and businesses throughout the State of Georgia, including preparation and review of contracts, restrictive covenants, and related corporate documentation.

Formerly with the law firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP (now Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner), Mr. Hatcher practiced in that firm’s business litigation and intellectual property litigation groups. While at that firm, Mr. Hatcher represented both regional companies and national corporations in both state and federal courts. Mr. Hatcher joined Smith, Gilliam, Williams & Miles in 2004 and is active in various bar and civic organizations.
